*** Please Note *** - Stalks will grow 4 to 5 feet, but baby ears will be ready for picking before the stalks reach full height. You want to pick the baby ears within 3-5 days from when silk emerges from them. If not, the baby ears will develop into full size regular corn.
Japanese White Hulless Popcorn Corn dates back to the 1920's, an unusual dual-purpose corn (Baby Corn/Popcorn) that is perfect for small gardens. These are short plants that reach between 4-5 feet in height. The 4-5’ plant bears between 3 - 6 ears with white kernels. The immature baby ears are suitable for “baby corn”, which can be eaten both raw and/or cooked. The kernels of the mature dried ears are a translucent pale cream color and can produce perfectly tender popcorn.
