Summary

Shishito is a Japanese pepper. The name was given to the pepper since the tip of the pepper somewhat resembled a lion's head. Peppers grow between 2 to 4 inches long. The peppers themselves are wrinkled and a nice emerald green color. Flavor is mild with a bit of spice. It is said that about 1 out of every 10 Shishito peppers is spicy. Perfect for roasting, pan-frying, and grilling. A Japanese favorite especially when used for making tempura.
